Living in kabubbu village Uganda Lillian lives with her mother who is a single parent . Her mother Naziwa Anett a samosa vendor and also does casual laboring of washing clothes and digging for other wealthy families. In order to earn a living and support her children

Lillian last born of the family is a very outgoing young girl. top of her class , she loves to play with others And constantly the center of attention, she is very creative and is always leading other children in new activities, Lillian favorite game is skipping rope Lillian’s mother Was quoted saying to the head teacher of kabubbu community primary school where Lillian is currently attending primary 2 that she is unable to raise school fees for Lillian in the coming year

When we interviewed her she said that she has been forced to close her samosa business because of the current skyrocketing prices of ingredients like floor and cooking oil, she is no longer able to raise the capital. She also mentioned how customers that used to give her other casual labour work are scarce and reduce by the day

More than half of kids in our village (KABUBBU) are dropping out of school because families don’t have the finances to enable them attend school this makes many children drop out to help make ends meet at home Lillian being first of her class has been promoted to primary 3 her dream is to be a doctor however this dream may not come to pass given that she is at the verge of dropping out of school due to lack of school fees. Kabubbu development project a local Ugandan NGO is looking out for sponsors who can support Lillian to archive her dream
